A new presence for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in international scientific competitions is embodied in the participation of the National Team of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for Physics in the World Applied Physics Olympiad 2022, which was organized by Indonesia remotely over two days with the participation of 17 countries.
The Excellence and Creativity Authority indicated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it today that the Syrian team included a group of distinguished talents from the members of the national team for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for Physics, namely Ammar Masoud from Shatah High School in Hama, Ahmed Sami Skeif from Al-Amal School in Aleppo, and Muhammad Suleiman from Martyr Younis Bilal School In Latakia, Seif El-Din Khadra from Al-Basel School for Outstanding Students in Damascus, Amira Shalhoub, Amjad Younes, Jana Noaman, Laith Al-Sheikh, and Rasen Shabib from the National Center for Excellence.
The authority explained that this Olympiad is distinguished from other competitions by its testing, which is limited to one problem and is required to be solved within a long period of time that does not exceed 37 hours.
It is noteworthy that the participation of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the International Applied Physics Olympiad for the past year 2021 culminated in five silver medals out of a total of 20 medals and a bronze out of a total of three medals.
