In the Middle East, further bloody clashes have broken out after renewed tensions in East Jerusalem.
A Palestinian has been killed in an Israeli army operation in the West Bank.
As the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported, citing hospital information, the 21-year-old died from a shot in the head.
Three other Palestinians were injured in the clashes in Jenin in the north of the West Bank.
At the request of the AFP news agency, the Israeli army confirmed an "anti-terrorist operation".
At first she did not comment on possible victims.
Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have escalated significantly in recent weeks.
After several attacks by radical Islamic fighters, Israel launched a large-scale operation in the West Bank in early April, focusing primarily on the area around Jenin and the neighboring refugee camp.
Since March 22, a total of 14 people have been killed in multiple attacks on Israelis.
According to AFP information, 26 people were killed during operations by the Israeli security forces, including several assassins.
Tensions stem from new clashes on Jerusalem's Temple Mount.
In mid-April, tensions arose at the holy site controlled by the Muslim population around the Christian Easter, Jewish Passover and Ramadan.
More than 150 people were injured in the clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and the Israeli police.
A further escalation of the Middle East conflict is feared because of the tensions.
Last year, unrest in East Jerusalem led to an eleven-day armed conflict between the Israeli army and militant Palestinian organizations from the Gaza Strip.
New air strike in Syria
In addition to the operations in Israel and the Palestinian territories, Israel has again intervened in the Syrian war and has flown airstrikes near the Syrian capital Damascus.
According to activists, nine people were killed, including five Syrian soldiers.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israel attacked, among other things, an ammunition depot and other military positions linked to Iran.
Since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes on targets in Syria, targeting government troop positions as well as fighters from the Lebanese Hezbollah militia and other Iran-backed forces.
The Israeli government rarely confirms individual military operations.
However, she has repeatedly stated that she does not want to tolerate an expansion of Iranian influence in Syria.
Tehran is considered Syria's most important ally in the region.
In March, two officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed in an Israeli attack in a suburb of Damascus.
