The production of the General Organization for beef from the beginning of this year until the end of last March amounted to 1,533 tons of milk out of the total planned plan amounting to 1,759 tons, with an implementation rate of 88 percent, while 48 tons of meat were produced, with an implementation rate of 105 percent of the plan.
The Director General of the Corporation, Eng. Khaled Hilal, said in a statement to SANA that the Corporation includes 11 cows, four of which are in service, in addition to an agricultural project in the Al-Ghab area and four units for the manufacture of dairy, cheese and fodder, pointing out that the Corporation seeks to increase productivity of meat and milk, as the number of births from herds of cows has reached During the first quarter, 178 babies were born out of the planned total of 250 births.
Hilal pointed out that there is a cowshed that is currently under investment, which is the Zahid yard in Tartous, and there are other yards that have been decided to be included in the service. It is the Mubaqer Maskanah complex with one station, Deir al-Zour yard, and Mubaqer under study, which is al-Zarba and Dara'a.
He pointed out that the dairy and cheese factories in the two villages of Video and Jubb Ramla manufacture their daily production of milk into various products, including yogurt, labneh and white cheese, where the products are marketed through direct sales outlets in the factories and through the Syrian trade halls in the governorates of Lattakia and Hama and the institution's product sales hall in Baghdad Street, Damascus.
It is noteworthy that the General Organization for Cows produced 6,079 tons of milk and 195 tons of meat last year, with an implementation rate of 83 percent.
