A 41-year-old had to fight for his life on Sunday with severe head injuries.

The man wanted to protect a young woman on the S-Bahn and was then brutally beaten.

Munich – He wanted to help a young woman in the middle of the night – and almost paid for his courage with his life!

A 41-year-old man is now in the hospital with a crushed head.

His fate is reminiscent of the story of Dominik Brunner, who helped other people on the S-Bahn in 2009 and was therefore the victim of a violent attack.

Brunner did not survive the brutal attack.

In the case of the 41-year-old, who has now been beaten down, the police are urgently asking for witnesses.

Violence escalation in Munich S-Bahn station: brutal attack at three o'clock in the morning

People are being sought who were traveling on the S8 from Stachus towards the airport at around three o'clock on Sunday night.

Just like the 41-year-old and the 19-year-old he wanted to protect.

The woman from Ismaning (Munich district) was molested by two young men on the train.

According to the police, the 41-year-old intervened "because he said the girl was uncomfortable with the contact".

He separated the group, after which it remained quiet during the journey.

Until everyone involved got out in Ismaning.

Also the 18-year-old and 19-year-old from Ismaning, who immediately attacked the man and hit him.

"The 41-year-old was suddenly attacked violently on the platform - after which he fell to the ground," said the police.

The two then let go of their victim - the seriously injured lay on the ground, the young adults fled.

They were arrested and interrogated by the police on Sunday, but the thugs were later released.

Her victim was undergoing surgery at the time.

The man suffered, among other things, a skull fracture with bleeding in the head and a broken jaw.

The federal police are now investigating the background – for example, whether the perpetrators and the young woman from Ismaning knew each other.

New TV documentary about Dominik Brunner

The group of young people who Dominik Brunner protected in September 2009 when they were threatened on the S-Bahn was completely unknown.

He paid for it with his life: Brunner was attacked so hard on the platform in Solln by Markus S. (29) and two other perpetrators that he died of heart failure after 22 punches and kicks.

It was controversial at the time that the first blow probably came from Brunner.

All of this is being worked up in a new TV documentary.

"The Scar - Deadly Civil Courage: The Brunner Case" is available in the NDR media library: www.ndr.de.
