Many citizens are worried that elderly people who arrive in Hong Kong for quarantine stay alone may be prone to accidents.
According to the Hong Kong government’s website, in addition to minors arriving in Hong Kong for quarantine, they may be required to live with their caregivers, and those in need of special care can also make the same request.

At present, all people arriving in Hong Kong must strictly abide by the epidemic prevention regulations, undergo at least seven-day hotel quarantine, and undergo rapid testing and nucleic acid testing on time.
To reduce the risk of virus transmission in the community by the tested person, caregivers are not allowed to enter the quarantine hotel room unless consent is obtained from an authorised officer.
If the person under inspection needs to replenish supplies or food, they need to be assisted by relatives, friends or hotel staff to put it outside the room door.
Persons under examination who require special care must first obtain approval from the Department of Health.
Persons to be tested may submit reasons and apply for conditional approval to the Department of Health before arriving in Hong Kong, and email the completed application form to caretaker_apply@dh.gov.hk.

The application form is divided into two parts. The first part is the information of persons under quarantine. Arrivals not only need to fill in basic personal information, but also need to fill in the flight number, estimated date and time of arrival, quarantine location, quarantine start and completion dates, etc.
The second part is the carer's information, and the basic personal information is also required to be completed.
Arrivals can also apply for a compulsory quarantine order by calling the 24-hour hotline on the quarantine order after arriving in Hong Kong.
The Department of Health will only approve one caregiver to accompany the person. The person under examination must be quarantined in the same hotel room as the caregiver until the end of the quarantine period. During this period, the person cannot leave the hotel or change the caregiver.
