While other children were interested in other things, at school,

Dr. Guy Nachmani

, he was mainly interested in two main subjects: biology and chemistry, which helped him understand, despite his young age, that his future in the medical world continued. R. Guy Nachmani specializes in aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery, and is considered a leader in the field of breast augmentation surgeries in various techniques and surgeries in the abdomen and chest area.

In addition, Dr. Nachmani serves as the medical director of a medical technology company that deals with light and laser energy as well as a senior doctor in plastic surgery at Clalit Health Fund. So how did it all start and why did he choose plastic surgery? We caught Dr. Nachmani for an interview.

In the video: Meet Dr. Guy Nachmani (PR)

Dr. Nachmani, can you tell us a little about yourself?

"I was born and raised in Tel Aviv and later in Givatayim.

Already in elementary school and high school I was drawn to subjects like biology and chemistry that helped me understand that I wanted to pursue medicine.

In the army, because of asthma problems, I was disqualified for a pilot's course and in my military service I was a youth instructor, first in Sde Boker, and later in promoting youth at risk. "

Did you always know you wanted to be a doctor?

" I was sure I could pursue such a long and demanding path. That is why I turned to law and business studies and in the middle of

the

year I retired when I realized that my heart goes after medicine.

About your professional path and why did you choose the field of plastic surgery?

"Already in the fourth year I felt that my tendency was not towards the 'white robe', which are the internal professions, but rather towards the 'blue pajamas' which are the surgical professions. I quickly realized that I wanted to be a surgeon, and specifically in plastic medicine."

What is it about plastic surgery that has brought you back?

This field fascinated me because of the many possibilities.

A plastic surgeon knows, recognizes, and surgically intervenes in all parts of the body.

Unlike an ophthalmologist who knows how to operate only in the eye area, an orthopedist to treat the limbs and back, or an AG doctor for the head and neck, a plastic surgeon knows and is proficient in all areas of the body and even helps other doctors in cases of related reconstructions.

"The practice of cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine will be studied in depth only in specialization in plastic surgery and the practice of reconstructions, which is the art of building and repairing ruined areas, requires high skill and abilities and connects me to the world of aesthetics."

"Training never ends."

Are you a graduate of Hadassah Jerusalem in medical studies, and Ichilov an intern?

"The road was long, challenging, and interesting. While I was at Hadassah Jerusalem, I did research work using which I learned to use a microscope and a special characterization method called" histomorphometry. " In the wound healing clinic in Tel Hashomer and in the Department of Plastic Surgery. I was accepted for a six-year internship in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Ichilov Hospital in the 'Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery' department.

It is a strenuous and varied job that has given me many tools to continue down the road.

During the internship I conducted various studies with accessories used in reconstructive medicine such as biological sheets for breast reconstructions, etc. "

After the internship, the training ends?

"The training never ends. You always study and progress further. After completing the internship, I underwent a fellowship, called Fellowship, with Dr. Mickey Sheflen, specializing in breast reconstructions and cosmetic surgery, and at the same time I continued researching with various medical equipment companies, and engaged in aesthetic medicine.

Your resume also includes the public sector in Clalit Aesthetics.

"After completing my fellow training, I was accepted as a senior physician at Clalit Health Fund and at the same time worked in aesthetic medicine privately and in Clalit Aesthetics clinics. During my work there I was medical director of one of the clinics, and after several years I retired. Today I practice aesthetic medicine only privately. He is still a consultant in plastic surgery and not cosmetic surgery. "

You have gained rich experience and impressive knowledge.

Where is this taking you today?

"Today I work in aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery in my private clinic. I am also the medical director of a medical technology company that deals with light and laser energy and serves as a senior doctor in plastic surgery at a general public and medical fund. I am a consultant and opinion leader. In medical aesthetics. "

Your activities are very diverse.

What else does it include?

"I have been lecturing for many years on techniques in medical aesthetics, in various forums and in a diverse audience of physicians, both interns and physicians who practice aesthetics."

Does the profession require further training?

"I often travel the world, participate in advanced training to deepen professional knowledge and operate in operating rooms together with leading surgeons in the world to constantly specialize in new methods."

Do you have satisfaction from your work?

"My enjoyment and satisfaction are everyday especially when I meet happy and satisfied people when they see the result of my aesthetic surgeries. People who have received back the joy of life and the smile. I am very pleased with my work and welcome the privilege given to me to improve, upgrade, and make people happy every day."
