Dominik and his two twin brothers have to cope with the unimaginable: their father suffered a pulmonary embolism and died in his mother's arms.

Aldersbach/Passau – The father of four-year-old Dominik and his two three-year-old twin brothers Pascal and Jan died suddenly and unexpectedly.

The 40-year-old collapses in front of the newly built house in Aldersbach (Passau district) and dies in the arms of his wife Sandra.

At this point, the three boys are still sleeping peacefully in their beds.

Since then, nothing has been the same.

The Passauer Neue Presse

was the first to report on the tragic fate of the young family

.

Tragic death of father: four-year-old wishes to be a police officer

The police were able to fulfill a heartfelt wish for four-year-old Dominik and his two brothers.

Harald Mayrhofer, Mayor of Aldersbach, made it possible.

"The day before Christmas Eve, Ms. Hillemann told me that Dominik's greatest wish was to become a police officer," says the mayor when asked by

.

"I assured her that I would take care of it." Mayrhofer had visited the woman at the time to tell her that she could hope for further financial support.

The tragic fate of the widow and her three boys triggered a wave of solidarity and helpfulness in the region.

Until the mayor was able to keep his promise, the boys were allowed to sit in a fire engine.

According to Mayrhofer, two emergency vehicles from the Walchsing fire brigade drove up on Christmas Eve, which the children were allowed to look at.

Shortly after Easter it was the turn of the police: last Thursday (April 21) a police patrol came to Aldersbach to surprise Dominik and his brothers.

Tragic death of father: Children are allowed to play police

Vilshofen's chief of police, Wolfgang Maierhofer, and his colleague, chief police officer Sabrina Hrdlicka, personally looked after the three children.

Mayor Mayrhofer was also there, of course.

"Little Dominik rebuked me straight away with the police stop signal," he says.

“That was an experience for the boy.” The children were allowed to let off steam in the police car.

In the end, one of the three boys even found the button for the siren.

Four-year-old Dominik and his two twin brothers were surprised with a special action after the tragic death of their father: they were allowed to play police.

The whole thing was arranged by the mayor of Vilshofen.

In a snapshot taken by the mayor of the meeting, Dominik is seen standing in front of the police car in a police vest, the four-year-old is wearing a genuine police hat.

One of his two twin brothers has grabbed a broom from the trunk of the car and is sweeping the street with it.

A similar photo was liked a hundred times on Facebook (as of April 28) and shared several times.

During the action with the police, the three boys were able to forget their worries for a short time.

Tragic death of the father: "Such a stroke of fate is really not common"

When asked by Merkur.de

, the mayor was

relieved that he was able to do something good for the boys through the campaign.

Because the whole situation is not easy for the boys and their mother.

"Such a stroke of fate is really not commonplace," says Harald Mayrhofer.
