The mayor of Garenne-Colombes and boss of the LR Hauts-de-Seine federation pleads for the opening of his party to the government majority

An abstention this Tuesday morning in the strategic committee of the Republicans and since the rumors which multiply.

By refusing to vote for the motion presented by the boss of the LR Christian Jacob, reaffirming the independence of the party vis-à-vis the government majority, Philippe Juvin has confused the cards a little more.

Even though the negotiations for the legislative elections of June 12 and 19 between the parties of the right and the center are causing a lot of tension.

Because the mayor of La Garenne-Colombes and boss of the LR federation of Hauts-de-Seine, unsuccessful candidate for the primary of the right, pleads for "the parties of government to govern together", in favor of "a base obvious convergence.

But without going as far as the single party wanted by the President of the Republic, re-elected Sunday evening with 58.5% of the vote, and more than 80% in the Hauts-de-Seine.

"That doesn't make me an outcast"

"I fully assume this position today as a minority and that does not make me a pariah within the Republicans, which is a party where debate is possible, we are not in the former Soviet Union", insists Philippe Juvin, now a legislative candidate in the 3rd constituency of Hauts-de-Seine (Bois-Colombes, Courbevoie Nord, La Garenne-Colombes).

With the LR label that has always been his.

“In my mind, when you are an LR candidate, you campaign to sit in the LR group in the National Assembly”, adds Philippe Juvin, forced to drive the point home “faced with an unlimited capacity for imagination”, caused by its position in the strategic committee.

"No contact with Emmanuel Macron's entourage"

Some see him already ostracized by the Republicans, deprived of his nomination and in the process of negotiating with the presidential majority, in particular the Ministry of Health, his lifelong ambition.

Philippe Juvin eludes: “I had no contact with Emmanuel Macron's entourage.

»

Others imagine him forming a ticket for the legislative elections with Aurélie Taquillain, elected LREM from Courbevoie, head of the list for the municipal elections of 2020 and the regional ones last June in the 92. Even though the 3rd constituency already has a deputy Outgoing LREM, Christine Hennion.

The long-awaited nominations could be punctuated by a few surprises in Hauts-de-Seine, where eight of the thirteen constituencies carry the LREM banner.

"Let's stop looking for lice for having defended my point of view independently", proclaims Philippe Juvin.
