Phantasialand designer Eric Daman, who created theme worlds such as Rookburgh and Mexico, has now died at the age of 58.
The amusement park mourns.
Brühl - Mourning in Phantasialand in Brühl: "We are deeply affected and shocked by the sudden death of Eric Daman, the designer and creative designer of the theme worlds in Phantasialand," said the amusement park on Facebook.
The Belgian artist died on Wednesday April 20 at the age of 58.
According to Phantasialand, Daman created the theme worlds of Klugheim, Mexico and Rookburgh in Phantasialand, among other things.

“With his great artistic spirit, Eric Daman has played a decisive role in shaping what Phantasialand is today with his designs over decades.
His inimitable creative signature characterizes all of our themed worlds and themed hotels,” writes Phantasialand, as reported by 24RHEIN.
There are a total of six themed worlds and three themed hotels in Phantasialand.

"With Eric Daman, we are losing a unique person who gave us so much with his unparalleled inventive powers of creation - and a valuable partner whose great passion for the extraordinary we greatly appreciated," continued Phantasialand.
The creative soul of the artist lives on in the theme worlds, for example in Klugheim or Rookburgh.

reports, several projects in Phantasialand were penned by the creative artist.
Among other things, he designed the following roller coasters and themed worlds:

Winja's Fear and Winja's Force roller coasters
Black Mamba Roller Coaster

Theme hotels “Hotel Matamba”, “Hotel Ling Bao” and “Hotel Charles Lindbergh”
There are a total of eight roller coasters in Phantasialand - the fastest is the multi-launch coaster "Taron" with a top speed of around 117 km/h.
Eric Daman also designed the Black Mamba roller coaster.
However, the roller coaster cannot be used until April 29, 2022, because a new attraction is currently being built in the “Deep in Africa” themed area.

In the Ochtend podcast, the Belgian Phantasialand designer once revealed in 2016 that he often walks through the park and takes photos of places he doesn't like.

The post also deeply touched many visitors to Phantasialand.
In the comments, some of them left emotional words and thanked the creator of the theme worlds for his work.
“If the ideas of Klugheim and Rookburgh are allowed to live on here, then his soul will live forever.
I am deeply impressed by the way these worlds of experience are themed.
So great, I kept thinking, "Who was that?"
It always impressed me, just "Wow".
RIP,” writes one Facebook user.
Another visitor writes: "For many years I wasn't brave enough to ride roller coasters.
My friends would always ask me what I would do while my husband and daughter waited in line.
My answer was always: I enjoy the park!
The themes and decorations, the attention to detail, the flowers...everything”.
Although she has been to Phantasialand so often, she noticed something new with every visit.
"Thank you Eric," she writes.
