After the nationwide corona measures were abolished at the turn of the month, the mask requirement and the 3G rule also ceased to apply in Bavaria’s state parliament.

“So far we have been more careful to ensure the work of Parliament.

But of course the same applies to us in Parliament as almost everywhere in the Free State, so that wearing the mask is now voluntary, ”said Ilse Aigner (CSU), President of the State Parliament on Wednesday in Munich.

Since this week, Parliament has been sitting again in full force and without separating windows.

Anyone who gets Corona usually has a rather harmless course thanks to vaccinations and the number of infections would also decrease, said Aigner.

“This also enables us to return to normality in the Bavarian state parliament.

Of course, everyone is free to wear a mask voluntarily.

And the hygiene measures are also highly recommended.”

Masks have been compulsory in the state parliament since June 15, 2020.

Initially, only wearing a medical mask was mandatory, but as the pandemic progressed, this became a requirement for FFP2 masks.

Corona in Bavaria: Tests in schools are being phased out

: The regular corona tests in schools and the mandatory tests in kindergartens and daycare centers in Bavaria will expire at the end of this week.

The cabinet formally decided on Tuesday to remove the relevant provisions from the Corona Ordinance.

This was announced by Head of the State Chancellery Florian Herrmann after the cabinet meeting - this time again in person - in Munich.

This means that students have to take corona self-tests for the last time this week.

The regular PCR tests at primary schools and in the fifth and sixth grades at secondary schools are also no longer necessary.

In the event of an infection in a class, there are also no more tests in the schools.

At the same time, all testing obligations in the area of ​​childcare are no longer applicable.

Free corona self-tests, for example via vouchers for pharmacies, will then also no longer be offered.

"From our point of view, the acute threat posed by the virus has currently been averted," said Herrmann.

On Monday, the RKI reported an incidence of 802.4 for the Free State - a week ago the value was 939.5.

The incidence indicates the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week.
