The Russian Foreign Ministry announced a ban on entry to Russia for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and a number of ministers in his government.
Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a list of 592 Canadian citizens against whom Russia has imposed sanctions, including a ban on entry to its territory. The list includes the names of a number of current and former Canadian ministers, including Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie, former Foreign Minister John Bard, Defense Minister Anita Anand, Minister of Commerce Marie Ang and others.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that taking these measures against Canadian officials came "in response to hostile actions by the Canadian government."
The Russian Foreign Ministry had previously confirmed that it would "confront anti-Russian actions" by Ottawa, including arms supplies to Ukraine.
