The family of Debanhi Escobar, the 18-year-old girl who was found dead at the bottom of the cistern of an abandoned motel in the municipality of Escobedo, Nuevo León, ordered a second autopsy to be carried out on their own and will announce the results this Thursday, according to the young woman's father, Mario Escobar, reported the Efe agency.
According to surveillance videos shown by the Nuevo León Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday,
the young woman was walking around the Nueva Castilla Motel at a fast pace
and was seen peeking into the closed restaurant minutes before she died.
She then headed “to the tanker area” where her body was located, authorities said.

Eduardo Villagómez, coordinator of the Forensic Medicine Service of the Prosecutor's Office, said at a press conference on Wednesday that the young woman fell into the tank alive and that she had even managed to get up after the fall.
Authorities found Escobar's cell phone in a different pit than the same cistern he fell into, which consists of three pits in all.

The Prosecutor's Office established a blunt blow to the head as the cause of death, but has not said whether that blow was caused by falling into the cistern or someone else.
The father assures that his daughter could have been murdered and ordered a second autopsy for that reason.
"We did a separate autopsy, authorized, we'll see the results and comparisons
," Escobar said at a press conference this Thursday.

more than 10 women are murdered every day and in 2021 there were more than 1,000 femicides
