During the first quarter of this year, the labor hospital in Homs provided about 21,540 medical services to its patients, distributed between surgeries, endoscopy, functional tests and computed tomography, in addition to outpatient and ambulance services.
The director of the hospital, Dr. Essam Odeh, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the hospital has 55 beds and provides its services through emergency departments, radiology, upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, and laboratory for all types of analyzes, including hormonal and intensive care, in addition to outpatient clinics, operations departments, functional tests and audiograms, in addition to the Cardiac Surgery and Catheterization Center. cardiomyopathy;
In turn, the Director of the Center for Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Catheterization of the hospital, Dr. Hossam Al-Mohammed, indicated that the center provided, during the first three months of this year, about 200 treatment services, and it includes 6 intensive care beds, 3 cardiac surgery units and 12 beds for cold cases.
Al-Mohammed said that the center includes a unit for catheterization and arterial imaging and a cardiac surgery unit that is equipped with all the modern equipment necessary to perform open-heart operations, switch valves and an artificial heart, in addition to health and advanced anesthesia devices, surgical equipment and tools, as well as two units for cardiac surgery and coronary care. All operations are for the purpose of distance learning, pointing to the center’s role in serving the governorate and the central region and providing the burdens and efforts of moving to Damascus to perform heart operations.
