Tsuen Wan No. 3 Fire

A level 3 fire broke out in Tsuen Wan and two male DSD staff were injured.

This morning (28th) at about 6:30 in the morning, a zinc-iron composite house at the junction of Hoi Shing Road and Cape Street, opposite the Cable TV Building, at the site of the Drainage Services Department and an outsourcer caught fire. Several explosions were heard on the bridge deck of Tsuen Wan Road.

Due to the intensity of the fire, the fire department raised the fire alarm to level 3 at 6:50 am. The fire area was about 20 meters by 30 meters. put out.

Two men were injured in the fire. According to sources, the two injured were staff of the Drainage Services Department, both of whom were night shift staff.

One of the men is suspected of being injured when he jumped to the ground on the first floor in a panic while escaping.

Affected by the wind, some thick smoke was blown towards Tsuen King Circuit, and some residents said they smelled a strong smell of burning gum.

The Fire Services Department said that a fire broke out at No. 3 Cape Street, Tsuen Wan at 6:38 a.m. today (28th) and was upgraded to level 3 at 6:50 a.m.

The fire was surrounded at 9:43 a.m., brought under control at 10:32 a.m. and was largely put out at 10:50 a.m.

Firefighters used 4 hoses and 3 smoke-cap teams to fight the fire.

Two people were injured in the fire and were sent to Renji Hospital for treatment.

The Transport Department said at 7:50 a.m. that the only lane of the slip road from Tai Chung Road to Tsuen Wan Road (towards Tuen Mun) was still closed due to a fire.

In addition, the only traffic lane of the slip road from Tsuen Wan Road (Kowloon direction) to Tai Chung Road remains closed.

Affected bus route No. 268M has to be diverted.

Motorists are advised to consider using other roads as the traffic on the site is currently heavy.

As of 8:10 a.m., the Information Services Department stated that a fire broke out at a construction site on Cape Street in Tsuen Wan at 6:38 a.m. today (28th) and was upgraded to level 3 at 6:50 a.m. The fire department is carrying out fire-fighting operations.
