Miss S bluntly stated that the incident caused mental distress and needed a psychiatric consultation.
She believed that the beauty salon and the doctor involved were duty-bound, and demanded a total of about 15,000 yuan for the refund of the treatment fee, as well as mental damage, but was rejected.
The Democratic Party, Yuan Haiwen, who assisted in following up the incident, pointed out that he had complained to the Medical Council about the doctors involved, and urged the Hong Kong government to bring the Private Medical Institutions Ordinance into the regulation of "clinic licenses" as soon as possible.
The beauty salon replied that it had been handed over to the police and lawyers, and it had also been filed with the Medical Council.

After burying a total of eight lines, there is a "big thin noodles"
The victim, Ms. S, said that she knew the person in charge of the beauty salon "Haiken Gongguan", so in late May last year, she went to the beauty salon for eye and thread embedding treatment, and paid a total of 13,000 yuan.
She said the staff had provided a consent form for treatment in advance for signing, but did not specifically explain the associated side effects and risks.
The treatment was carried out by a doctor surnamed Deng, but Ms. S pointed out that Dr. Deng did the treatment without pre-painting the thread embedding position on the face, and buried a total of six threads on both sides.
But after the operation, it was found that the right side was protruding, and the doctor then buried a line on each side, that is, a total of eight lines.
Miss S said that the protruding condition on the right side did not improve after the operation, and Dr. Deng told her that the swelling would disappear before follow-up.

Doctor recommends fat-dissolving injections
Miss S's "big thin noodles" continued, and until June 8, Dr. Tang pulled the thread for her again. He said at that time that it still took time to reduce the swelling.
On the 25th of the same month, Miss S went to the beauty salon again. Dr. Deng said that her fat distribution was uneven and suggested that she should take a fat-dissolving injection.
Under the promotion of the person in charge of the beauty salon, Ms. S agreed to have the injection and paid another 1,900 yuan.
On July 12, Miss S injected fat-dissolving needles on the cheeks and near the chin.
She claimed that neither Dr. Deng nor the beauty salon explained the side effects and risks verbally or in writing beforehand. After the injection, her left and right faces were still asymmetrical.
By the end of September last year, the beauty salon arranged for another doctor to pull the thread for Miss S, but the situation was not ideal.
After half a year, Miss S's face was obviously sunken, and it was similar to the position of the fat-dissolving needle.
During the period, she negotiated with the beauty salon and Dr. Deng. The other party suggested that the victim be injected with hyaluronic acid. "They said it was very simple."
Ms. S pointed out that after thread embedding and fat-dissolving injection, her face was sunken, and a doctor assessed that her condition was difficult to restore.

Consult a specialist to judge disfigurement
From January to March this year, Ms. S went to another plastic surgery specialist for consultation. A specialist estimated that her depression was caused by a fat-dissolving needle, and also speculated that the nerve thread might be touched to cause a "large and thin surface" during thread embedding.
She quoted a doctor as saying that the face would not be restored: "It will not restore at all. Even if you eat back fat, the other side will be buried in fat, and the two sides will be asymmetrical."
Ms. S bluntly said that she was emotionally trapped after the disfigurement and needed psychiatric treatment. "I don't socialize with anyone, which affects my work. I have to take sleeping pills and sedatives all day long."
She asked the beauty salon for a refund of a total of 14,900 yuan of treatment fees and the cost of mental damage, but the other party refused.

Yuan Haiwen, a spokesman for the Democratic Party's medical and consumer rights policy, said the doctor in charge was suspected of being negligent and violating the professional code of doctors, including lack of effective "informed consent" and solicitation of business before conducting treatment for patients.
He pointed out that he has helped the client to write to the beauty salon and doctor involved in recovering the losses, but there is no response. He has also lodged a complaint on his behalf, and the client has applied for the Consumer Litigation Fund and is considering legal proceedings.
He mentioned that the incident reflects that there are many traps in medical cosmetology. The government, the Department of Health and the Medical Council should make effective supervision as soon as possible to protect the safety of consumers, including implementing the "Clinic License" requirements of the Private Medical Institutions Ordinance as soon as possible, and severely punishing violating doctors.
He also urged consumers to re-understand their side effects, risks and consumer rights before purchasing any treatment.
