Aoun: Coordination between various institutions to ensure the success of the parliamentary elections

Lebanese President General Michel Aoun called for holding successive meetings between the concerned agencies and forces to ensure the success of the measures that will be implemented before the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 15th.

While presiding over a session of the Supreme Defense Council to discuss arrangements for the elections, Aoun said: “To ensure the success of the elections, coordination must be made between the various military, security and administrative agencies in the country,” noting that international institutions will monitor the elections, as happened in previous sessions, and their mission must be facilitated.

Aoun noted the importance of the role played by the election supervisory body to fully carry out its duties in accordance with the tasks set for it in the election law to secure fair, free and transparent elections, calling for setting rules for media coverage.
