The investigation opened after the death of a 25-year-old man, found drowned in the Seine on Wednesday evening, was entrusted to the Argenteuil police station (Val-d'Oise).

He had been seen jumping into the water by municipal police officers from Épinay-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis) who were in pursuit.
