A 46-year-old from the district who was in possession of child pornography was sentenced to one year and three months' probation.

Weilheim

- Almost 900 child pornographic image files and various videos of the same genre - that was the shocking balance sheet of the forensics, who had examined two laptops, a handful of USB sticks, cell phones, tablets and iPads of the accused.

The 46-year-old from the district fully admitted ownership of these depictions, which had a positive effect on him in the sentencing process.

Pornography seems to have a magical attraction for the married signmaker, because he repeatedly visited relevant sites on the Internet, also saved at least 7000 relevant images and over 200 videos.

In a porn portal, a "Sebastian" then offered to send him child porn because there were "nice things in it".

So he received a USB stick with – according to his statement – the first such representations.

As the forensics described in their report, hidden, deleted and overwritten files were also found.

All showed child and youth pornographic images, sexual acts on children and fully or partially undressed children in sexual orientation.

The defendant was discovered through NCMEC, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

This is an American organization that handles cases of missing or exploited children.

NCMEC also reports suspected cases of child pornography to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).

The number of such references to child pornography on the Internet is increasing every year.

If a German user uploads such child pornography, possession of which is a criminal offence, to US Internet services, a report is sent to the NCMEC and from there to the BKA.

The BKA then initiates investigations in Germany – as in the case of the 46-year-old.

Offender will go to therapy

The accused had already participated in the house search, which was also confirmed by the police officer called as a witness.

And the accused admitted everything in court.

"I'm sorry and I would apologize to everyone if it were possible.

That was under all sow!” said the man, who would definitely undergo therapy, which was also recorded in the verdict.

The public prosecutor pleaded for one year and nine months of probation and a fine of 7,500 euros, whereby he credited the accused with the fact that he had no previous convictions and had not confessed.

But the extent of the stored data and the intensity of the representations did not allow for a milder punishment.

Judge Stefanie Rainer essentially followed the request, reducing the fine to one year and three months and EUR 4,500, thus taking account of the defense's request.
