Hannover 96 is almost certain of staying up in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Despite the great concern about the planned commitment of the dream coach Stefan Leitl (SpVgg Greuther Fürth), the Lower Saxony won 2-0 (1-0) against Karlsruher SC on Friday evening.
The advantage over the relegation place is now nine points.
Lower Saxony can only be relegated if they lose their last two games against Hamburger SV and FC Ingolstadt and are 16th in the table.
Hannover - Dynamo Dresden wins three more times.
In front of 13,700 spectators, Hendrik Weydandt scored the 1-0 with a header in the 25th minute.
Shortly afterwards, Maximilian Beier could have made it 2-0 when he ran to the KSC goalkeeper Niklas Heeger, who was playing for the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga (27th).
In added time, the 19-year-old managed to score the second goal (90+3).
Hannover played very passively after the break, but Karlsruhe didn't take advantage of that.
Tim Breithaupt (24') and Fabian Schleusener (33') missed the best chances for the guests in the first half.
