"Hartz and cordial": A young couple wants to leave the Benz barracks.
But the housing market in Mannheim is highly competitive and the last visit was unexpected:
"It's the biggest shared apartment there is," is how crowd favorite Elvis describes his home in the Benz barracks in Mannheim.
The socially disadvantaged district benefits from its family flair and shows the viewers of "Hartz und Herzen" that money worries and official stress cannot take away the zest for life from the residents.
However, the way out of the dependency of the authorities is often more than rocky - security employee Jonas knows that only too well.

The 20-year-old was born in the Benz barracks and desperately wants to move away from the blocks.
Jonas currently lives with his mother Simone, but the young barackler would like to rent their own apartment together with his girlfriend Martina.
The 20-year-old "Hartz und cordial" actor dares two big changes:
It will be the first shared apartment with Martina and also a life outside of the Benz barracks.
But finding an apartment is proving to be more difficult than expected.
Above all, the Hartz IV clichés caused dissatisfaction with Jonas from "Hartz und Herzen" and even led to apartment refusals.

Jonas wants a change in his life.
He decided to take a big step, even though he has fond memories of his childhood in the Benz barracks.
The security guard would like to continue living in Mannheim, but would like to change the district – even if his search for an apartment is met with a lack of understanding from the other Benz barrackers.
Neighbor Elvis is certain: "You don't know anyone there, you won't find the solidarity and help that is available here either." The cult resident cannot understand why Jonas would like to turn his back on the Benz barracks.

Jonas has been looking for his own apartment for a long time.
However, previous experiences have dampened the hopes of the security employee: "I once had an apartment inspection - I had two competitors - one from Mercedes-Benz and one from Hartz IV recipients.
Me as security, no problem, I have my salary.
And the Hartz IV recipient got the apartment," says Jonas.
For Jonas, however, there are still further apartment cancellations away from the RTLZWEI cameras, as he now reveals in an Instagram question and answer session.

The highly competitive housing market makes Jonas despair.
When asked by a fan, "What about the new apartment?
Do you have something in sight?” the 20-year-old has a not very pleasant answer.
"I had an appointment for a visit, only that the owner canceled 1 day before the date of the visit - because the apartment was assigned," reveals the Benz barackler on Instagram.
Bad prospects: With Jonas, the dream of the first shared apartment seems to be further delayed.
