Sorting, selling, decorating, cashing in: Who would like to help out in the BRK clothing market?

The Lenggrieser shop is looking for volunteers.

Lenggries – Inexpensive and also “snazzy” second-hand clothing is part of the range of the BRK clothing market in Lenggries.

The Red Cross Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen is currently looking for volunteers to help out in the “Fesch” clothing market.

Corona caused many volunteers to quit

"Many of our volunteers stopped because of Corona because the risk of infection was too risky for them," explains Inge Knobloch, department head of the BRK clothing stores in Bad Tölz and Lenggries.

She finds: "Working in the clothing market is nice working in a team and also a very meaningful task." There are many volunteers who have been helping out in the clothing market for a long time, reports Knobloch.

"That speaks very well for the job." Not only young people should feel addressed by volunteering in "Fesch" - pensioners would also get out a bit and be among people, Knobloch thinks: "It's always a nice exchange with us. "

There are many tasks in the clothing market

The head of the department describes the tasks that await the volunteers in the clothing market as very diverse and varied.

“Everyone who joins us can choose how they want to help,” she explains.

“That can be advising customers, sorting the goods, decorating the shop and the shop window, or cashing up.

You should enjoy working with people

Applicants do not need to be able to demonstrate any special knowledge.

You should enjoy working with people, have a high level of social commitment and enjoy selling.

They decide how often the volunteers help out during the week. "There is no minimum number, only reliability is important to us," emphasizes Knobloch.

Whether for one or more half days - voluntary support is always welcome.

The volunteer helpers have the advantage of being able to buy clothes from the “Fesch” at half price.

In addition to clothing, there are many other items

Incidentally, the name "clothing market" is slightly misleading, because in addition to clothes for women, men and children that are donated to the clothing market, the "Fesch" also sells crockery and toys, for example.

"We have everything except furniture," says Knobloch.

In addition, anyone who wants to can shop in the clothing market.

“Holders of a social card only pay half price for clothing.

Overall, everything is very cheap with us.”

In addition to many regular customers, tourists would also shop at the "Fesch".

“Our customers are spread all over the place.

Lately we have noticed that more and more young people are shopping with us.

"The sustainability aspect plays a major role for them," says Knobloch.
