The first reflex consists in wanting to make it a doctrine like the others.
It is then said to come from modernizing social democracy, which would have freed itself from the anachronistic political culture of the PS to ally itself with the reformists of the camp opposite, around a progressive and European project.
Macronism would embody the old Giscardian dream of a large presidential party bringing together two out of three French people, and finally delivering the country from its ideological torments.
This definition remains very partial and does not take sufficient account of the last five years and the political recomposition that has characterized them, resulting in a France fractured into three blocks, of which Macronism would be the central block.
