The online scams are getting bolder: The consumer advice center warns of new tricks by Internet scammers aimed at customers of the savings banks and Volksbanks.

Kiel – At the end of April, new scams were circulating, aimed at the customers of two banking associations.

Since the savings banks and Volksbanks in Germany have the most customers, they are particularly attractive to fraudsters.

They send so-called phishing emails to unsuspecting bank customers and pretend to be their bank – in the hope that someone will bite.

Sparkasse: Phishing mail with an alleged savings bank fingerprint system

The Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center is now warning of a phishing attempt aimed at Sparkasse customers.

The phishing email, which copied the Sparkasse design, states that the Sparkasse is allegedly developing a Sparkasse fingerprint system (SKFS).

This system can easily be activated via the attached link.

Anyone who clicks on it will be redirected to a fraudulent website that intercepts sensitive customer data.

The consumer advice center advises moving this e-mail to the spam folder unanswered.

Volksbanken: Fraudulent mail informs about "suspicious transfer"

Volksbank customers are also currently being targeted by online fraudsters.

The phishing email with the subject "System Alarm Code" claims that a "suspicious transfer" of 4999 euros was made.

Although said transfer was allegedly cancelled, an account verification is now pending.

Readers should use the attached link to confirm their bank account.

Under no circumstances should you click on this link, because of course the hacker attack, as claimed in the e-mail, did not take place.

Instead, an attempt is also made here to lure bank customers to a fraudulent website via the link and enter their data there.

According to the consumer advice center, the fraudulent e-mail can already be identified as such by the dubious sender address “ichbincoooool2@t-online.de”.

Here, too, consumer advocates advise moving the e-mail to the spam folder unanswered.
