ISS mission uncertain:

The Ukraine war has been raging for nine weeks now and more and more consequences are now becoming apparent.

Russia has now questioned its involvement in the operation of the International Space Station (ISS).

As the head of the Russian Space Agency Dmitry Rogozin said, the decision on "the fate of the ISS" will depend on the future situation in his home country.

The

German Press Agency

reported on Friday, citing the Russian news agency

Tass

.

The considerations are also justified with the sanctions against Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the Russian economy.

However, as Rogozin further explained, Russia will not withdraw from the mission immediately.

If so, Moscow would give its partners a year's notice of an exit.

Russia's participation in the station is still planned for the time being until 2024.

Rogozin had previously not ruled out encapsulating the Russian module from the International Space Station.

He indicated an independent continued operation and a possible use of the station for military earth observation.

Christian Lindner (FDP) thinks about relief: State “do not enrich with salary increases”

Tax relief planned:

Inflation in Germany will probably reach a new record high again in April and will thus remain well above seven percent.

In view of these developments, Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) has announced a proposal to relieve employees.

He told the

that the state “should not enrich itself with salary increases that only compensate for the price increase.

Therefore, in the fall, I will make a fair proposal on how to combat this cold progression.”

In the meantime, the federal cabinet has agreed on a relief package for 2022, which includes a 9-euro ticket, a 300-euro energy flat rate and a children's bonus.

There are other planned measures.

Meanwhile, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) was on his first trip to Japan and visited a hydrogen plant in Tokyo on Friday morning.

Scholz met Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Thursday and agreed to work more closely with him.

"My trip is also a clear political signal that Germany and the European Union want to continue and intensify their commitment in the Indo-Pacific region," explained Scholz.
