After the armed gas station raid in Niederzwehren on Friday night (April 29), the police arrested a 35-year-old suspect.

Officials could have arrested the man on Friday morning, said the police headquarters in North Hesse.

The curious thing about the arrest: The perpetrator turned himself in to the authorities and admitted the robbery when the police had been called to his apartment for a completely different crime, as reported by hna.de.

Attack on a gas station: robbers from Niederzwehren suddenly admit to the police

A resident of Niederzwehren contacted the police at around 5 a.m., around an hour and a half after the gas station robbery.

According to the authorities, the reason was a loud argument in the neighboring house.

When law enforcement officers arrived on site, the woman who lived there and her 35-year-old boyfriend said they only had a verbal fight.

Suddenly, the man revealed remorsefully that he had committed the gas station robbery on Frankfurter Strasse, in which cash had been stolen.

According to the police, he even handed over the clothes worn in the act and the knife with which he threatened an employee to the emergency services.

After his confession, the patrol brought the man to the police station.

The perpetrator is currently in custody.

He is to be brought before a magistrate on Friday (April 29).

As reported by the North Hessian police, the stranger was armed with a knife when he entered the sales room at around 3:46 a.m.
