SC Freiburg can continue to dream of qualifying for the Champions League for the first time.

After the 4: 3 (1: 1) on Saturday evening in the Baden-Württemberg duel with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, the Breisgauers occupied fourth place, at least for the time being, which entitles them to participate in the premier class.

RB Leipzig could pass again on Monday.

Hoffenheim, on the other hand, have been waiting for a win for seven games now.

Sinsheim - Roland Sallai gave SC the lead in the 23rd minute in front of 23,627 spectators before Andrej Kramaric equalized just nine minutes later.

After the break, Angelo Stiller (49') scored for TSG, but Freiburg turned the game around again thanks to goals from Christian Günter (50'), Lucas Höler (70') and Woo-Yeong Jeong (73').

Sebastian Rudy's goal (84') for Hoffenheim came too late.

The Kraichgauer started the game better.

They acted poisonously in the duels and repeatedly put Freiburg under pressure early on.

Höler lost the ball twice during build-up play, but SC keeper Mark Flekken saved against Kramaric (16').

TSG coach Sebastian Hoeneß had to master the difficult task of solving the personal problems on the defensive.

Stefan Posch was yellow-locked in central defense.

Hoeneß, who had support from sports director Alexander Rosen despite a negative run during the week, decided on Pavel Kaderabek to replace him.

In addition, Christoph Baumgartner replaced Jacob Bruun Larsen.

There were also two changes at the sports club.

Lucas Höler and Manuel Gulde played in place of Ermedin Demirovic and Jeong.

Edel reservist Nils Petersen returned to the squad after recovering from illness and was substituted on in the second half.

Sallai took the lead after a cross pass from Höler.

Hoffenheim's response was not long in coming.

After a cross from David Raum, Kramaric made it 1-1.

Baumgartner missed the chance to turn the game around before the break (39').

This was achieved after the change of sides by Stiller, who completed a pass from Kramaric.

But just moments later, SC captain Günter scored and it was a draw again.

The state duel did not lose speed afterwards either.

Höler maneuvered a free kick over the line - and Jeong scored just 68 seconds after being substituted on.

In the end, Rudy's goal wasn't enough for TSG.

SC keeper Flekken saves again strongly against Kasim Adams (90 + 2).
