The Belarusian Ministry of Defense has warned against the plans of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Eastern Europe, indicating that the alliance sees the countries of this region as a theater of military operations, as evidenced by the plans of its maneuvers, "Defending Europe 2022."
And the Russian RIA Novosti news agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement, “NATO considers the Eastern European region the most likely theater of military operations,” noting that “in the period from May 1 to May 27, multinational forces from 19 European countries will conduct extensive maneuvers in order to in training centers and yards and in the waters of the Baltic and North Seas.”
The statement pointed out that during the NATO maneuvers, training is scheduled to transfer groups of alliance forces between European lands and to verify the readiness and infrastructure capabilities of these countries, especially in the neighboring countries of Belarus such as Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.
