"I've already seen a lot of fire": With the new 1st commander Gerhard Kiermeier, a change of leadership has now been made at the Oberhummel and Niederhummel fire brigade.

Langenbach

– The change at the top of the volunteer fire brigade Oberhummel and Niederhummel (we reported) has now officially been completed.

The municipal council has confirmed the election of Gerhard Kiermeier (37) as first commander.

The new boss of the Hummler Wehr originally comes from Moosburg.

He is married, has two children and has lived in Niederhummel since 2019.

The professional driver brings a lot of experience with him, as it was said when he was elected, but also when he was presented to the municipal council.

He worked for the Moosburg fire department for 20 years.

Ten years of that as a youth director and a long time as a group leader.

"We can talk about everything"

Kiermeier was also deployed as a breathing apparatus wearer, turntable ladder operator and boatman.

"I've seen a lot of fire," said the newcomer to the panel.

Kiermeier announced that he wanted to continue “the good work” of his predecessor, Josef Kratz (47), who had been in office for twelve years.

"If you have any questions, just come to me - we can talk about anything," he said.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Mayor Susanne Hoyer was happy about the "completely unproblematic transition".

Although it was initially difficult for her to accept the decision from scratch - because of the good cooperation and because scratch the Hummler Wehr modernized and "shaped".

At the same time, she was convinced that Kiermeier had all the prerequisites to seamlessly continue the work of Kratzer.

When he was elected, she had already spoken of a stroke of luck for the fire brigade.
