The Taufkirchen home and beautification association has planted a large number of new discounts.

The association spent 800 euros on a flourishing roundabout at the TEZ.

Taufkirchen

– Spring is planting time.

While homeowners are digging, raking and sowing in their gardens these days, the Taufkirchen Homeland and Beautification Association (HVV) has taken on a public piece of land.

Cranesbill, coneflowers, lady's mantle, catnip and spurflowers: HVV members planted 350 of these plants in wide strips next to the daffodils at the roundabout at the TEZ.

“Natural, close to nature, easy to care for.

Cut it off all at once and then drive it out again.” Those were the specifications given to Alois Aicher.

The landscape gardener from Wetzling, together with community gardener Bernd Prang from Moosen, has taken on the planning of the borders.

Together with HVV activists, they laid out the little plants and planted them in the ground.

"The building yard takes care of the rest," says HVV chairwoman Gabi Hofstetter.

The association spent around 800 euros on this.

Not to be forgotten is the generous support of the Hilger company from Großschaffhausen, which took care of the soil exchange.

Then everything was mulched.

This is necessary to prevent the unwelcome growth of weeds and because it is dry at the roundabout and the moisture is longer in the soil.

Previously there were roses here that were planted by Betty Illner, the long-standing head of the horticulture department at the HVV.

The red-blooming roses were very weedy, which is why the exchange of plants made sense, explains Hofstetter.

Hundreds of tulip bulbs, which the HVV planted here years ago, have since been cared for by voles.

"They all ate," says the HVV boss regretfully.

The aim of the design of the roundabout is also to ensure that different seasonal flowers bloom here throughout the season.

Planting was completed in a record time of just two hours, and mulching took another hour.

After all, the surface should be five centimeters high and the plants between them should be exposed, which requires a lot of finesse.

Christine Häglsperger (head of the horticulture department), Christa Ziegler, Marlene Leucht, Hans Mitschke and Herbert Held also helped out.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.
