Elon Musk joked on Twitter that after taking over Twitter, he would also buy Coca-Cola and put cocaine back into the drink.

The Tesla boss's joke almost set a like record.

San Francisco – With the purchase of Twitter, Elon Musk is already turning the platform upside down.

Before the $44 billion deal, he said he wanted to restore freedom of speech on Twitter.

But many fear that this will clear the way for hate speech again.

In the past, the short message service has taken strong action against hate and false reports.

Elon Musk jokes about Coca-Cola takeover after Twitter deal

Many criticized that everything is possible with money and that Twitter had buckled.

The Tesla boss obviously made fun of these comments.

In a tweet, he directly published new purchase plans – which were probably meant more as a joke.

On his account with 88.5 million followers he writes: "Next I'll buy Coca-Cola to put cocaine back in."

In fact, the name Coca-Cola didn't come from anywhere.

According to the German Head Office for Addiction Questions, the popular soft drink actually contained the drug cocaine up until 1906.

However, a spokeswoman for Coca-Cola Germany told

Bild:

"Coca-Cola does not contain cocaine and it has not been added in the past either." Anyway, Musk made fun of the story - and the Twitter community reacted enthusiastically.

Elon Musk: Coca-Cola tweet almost breaks a record

Because: The tweet received a total of 4.4 million likes (as of April 29).

This put Elon Musk's joke in second place among the tweets with the most likes of all time.

The death of actor Chadwick Boseman took first place with 7.2 million likes.

Shortly thereafter, Musk even followed up and joked about the takeover of another mega-corporation.

He posted a screenshot, with what appeared to be an edited image, meant to show a tweet from Musk.

It says: "Now I will buy McDonalds and fix all the ice cream machines." But even the multi-billionaire finds that unrealistic.

"Listen, I can't work miracles," he adds.
