The 14-year-old teenager suspected of having stabbed a boy of the same age, Monday April 25 in Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne), was referred to the judicial court of the city-prefecture.
He was indicted by an investigating judge for attempted murder of a minor under 15, which is an aggravating circumstance.
He was then placed in pre-trial detention, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution.
The facts occurred in the middle of the street in the Aunettes district, behind the Condorcet school group.
The victim had been seriously injured in the thigh by a stab wound, found on the spot.
The femoral artery was notably affected.
The young man is still hospitalized.
The suspect had gone to the police station on his own the next day to surrender to the police.
The “gratuitous act of violence” thesis
According to a source close to the case, "he recognizes the stab wound but says he wanted to defend himself, which is not consistent in the state of the investigations".
The investigation entrusted to the Évry judicial police is continuing to determine the exact circumstances of the attack.
It would not be a priori a brawl in a context of rivalry between neighborhoods, but "a gratuitous act of violence", confided a police source just after the facts.
