DPRK President Kim Jong Un affirmed his country's determination to continue developing and strengthening the capabilities of the Korean People's Army to confront all escalating hostile threats, including nuclear ones.
"The overwhelming offensive and military force that no power in the world can provoke is the lifeline that guarantees the security of our country and people and the future of future generations," the DPRK news agency quoted Kim as saying during a major military parade marking the 90th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.
Kim stressed his country's determination to maintain and continuously develop the absolute superiority of the DPRK armed forces to preemptively and comprehensively contain and thwart all attempts and dangerous threats, including the ever-increasing nuclear threats by hostile forces, noting the need to start a new phase of development of the DPRK's armed forces.
The DPRK president had earlier stressed the need to develop the country's nuclear force in order to enhance its combat capabilities and address any potential situation and challenge.
