In the wake of the deadly attack in which a security guard in Ariel was killed last night, Hamas yesterday stepped up its efforts to encourage attacks and violence on both sides of the Green Line.
The speech of its leader, Yahya Sinwar, was an attempt to preserve the struggle over the narrative that the al-Aqsa Mosque is in danger of. It was a dangerous speech, mainly because of its explicit reference to Israeli Arabs.
Sinwar, who has been plagued by signs of growing insanity since Operation Wall Guard last year, has explicitly played a role in Israeli politics.
He sought to position himself not only as another terrorist factor seeking nationalist activism among internal elements as well, but as one who tries to be fateful in the Israeli government and in its House of Representatives as well.

Mansour Abbas did well when he waved Sinwar, making it clear that he was acting only in the interests of Israeli Arabs.
This is an important element in returning Sinwar to his natural size: a leader of a small terrorist organization, who is mistaken in thinking that he is setting an equation for Israel.
His remarks that Israel is a "spider's web" were a faded imitation of Nasrallah's speech after the IDF withdrew from southern Lebanon. .
Although Hamas has gained a lot of popularity on the Palestinian and East Jerusalem streets and on social media, it has been a net operational failure - the last month has been a complete failure for it.
Sinwar understands this well, so tries to ride on the successes of others.
These efforts will continue in the coming days, until Eid al-Fitr, which ends the month of Ramadan, and a little later, until Independence Day.
Sinwar explicitly asked in his speech to preserve them also later;
This is his way of ensuring that Hamas remains relevant even without igniting the Gaza Strip.
He did threaten that his organization could launch more than 1,000 rockets at a time.
