Goal nets were destroyed again and again, but a culprit could not be identified for a long time.

Now the kickers from Hohenfurch got creative - with success.

Hohenfurch – willful destruction or pranks?

For weeks, Hohenfurch's footballers puzzled over who repeatedly cut the nets on the football goals.

Now the culprit has been identified: a fox has tampered with it.

Fox destroys goal nets in Hohenfurch: night vision camera unmasks the culprit

The footballers themselves made sure that the perpetrator could be identified.

The department installed a night vision camera with a motion detector on the soccer field, but initially nothing happened for several days.

"We seem to have positioned the camera in the wrong place," the kickers suspected and set the direction differently.

With success.

The camera went off at around 5 a.m.

The pictures show exactly how the fox sneaks around the net and finally bites into it.

Much to the annoyance of footballers, because such a net costs at least 80 euros.

"So far we have suffered damage of over 500 euros," says Hohenfurch's football boss Matthias Zeidlmaier.

There are ten goals equipped with nets on the two pitches on the Hornberg in the Weilheim-Schongau district.

It is completely unclear what the fox finds so tasty about the nets.

Footballers from Hohenfurch puzzle over the location of the fox's den

The footballers are now faced with the question of how to get rid of the rabid fox.

Especially since other foxes are suspected to be around the nearby Fischerhof.

Exactly where the Netze destroyer has its den and where it spends the day is just as unclear as the question of how the fox is to be lured out of the den if its "place of residence" can be determined.

"It's very difficult to get rid of the fox," says Zeidlmaier, who hopes the animal will go away on its own.

"Maybe the fox will go away when our sports grounds are really busy again."

Footballers know that there used to be a fox's den near the tennis court.

But it was removed two years ago.

It is now suspected that the fox could find shelter near the watering hole next to the soccer field, i.e. on a slope.

So far, however, the Hohenfurchers are still groping in the dark in this regard - and since the nocturnal snapshots, a number of networks have been destroyed again.
