The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office today (Sunday) filed an indictment in the city district court against five construction workers from China for abducting and extorting threats from their employer's wife.

According to the indictment, the five abducted and extorted the woman by force and threats, based on their claims that her husband did not pay their wages in the amount of NIS 210,000.

The indictment states that during the years 2022-2021, LK and ZV employed the five in various projects.

During the period, on several different occasions, the construction workers approached the two demanding that they be paid their wages.

Despite their inquiries, LK and ZO did not settle the debt and even transferred responsibility for it from one to the other.

During the month of April, ZU's wife arrived at an apartment in Tel Aviv and near the place she met one of the workers, who demanded that she settle the debt, while he threatened her and blocked her way.

The woman fled to the apartment and called her husband and her friend from the bathroom to help her and call the police.

Hapoel left the apartment and "connected with the other defendants" in order to blackmail the woman and kidnap her, so that her husband would meet with them and pay them the debt.

Later, the other workers arrived at the apartment, where they met the woman and attacked her.

According to the indictment, they strangled her with a power cord, pulled her hair, punched her and threatened to kill her and her son if she did not lead them to her husband.

She was then abducted in a vehicle to the Palmachim beach area, where one of them threatened her with a Japanese knife.

After a short time, some of them drove towards Tel Aviv, to meet with her husband, so they were arrested by the police.

One of them led the officers to the place where the woman was being held.
