A policeman was seriously injured after being run over by a car thief near Shoham
The policeman, about 30 years old, was taken to Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital with injuries to his head and limbs.
The policeman was allegedly run over by a stolen car driver who was trying to escape from a police checkpoint.
Police have located the vehicle but have not yet found the suspect driver

A 30-year-old policeman was seriously injured last night (Sunday) after he was run over by a car thief on Road 444 near Shoham.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene provided medical treatment to the policeman and evacuated him to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer with a vague consciousness and a bruise on the head and limbs. According to the suspect, this was a criminal incident

Earlier that evening, police began searches after reporting a vehicle stolen from Lod, during which police officers made a number of roadblocks along the vehicle driver's escape route.
According to the suspect, the driver of the stolen vehicle escaped from one of the checkpoints, and ran over the policeman.
Later that night, the police located the stolen vehicle that was involved in the crash near Kibbutz Yiftach, about 300 meters south of the Kahach junction.
Police forces are continuing to search for the suspect.
