The respondent, 18 years old and known to the police, was arrested on Saturday around 7 a.m. on the public highway, said the prosecutor, Guillaume Donnadieu.
He is suspected of having stabbed during an altercation with the ex-companion of his companion, aged 25, who had come to the home of the latter, in his presence.
The reasons for this visit by the victim, aged 27, have not yet been clarified.
The defendant was in a state of intoxication during his arrest, said the prosecution.
The police had been alerted by a call reporting a drunken man in the street saying he had killed his wife's lover, said a police source.
Hit mainly in the abdomen, the victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot despite the arrival of help.
