A clash broke out today (Sunday) at a cabinet meeting between Minister Issawi Frij of Meretz and Prime Minister Bennett, following a request by Frij to suspend a police officer who allegedly refused to investigate the death of an Arab resident of Lod during Operation Wall Guard.
Farage referred to the findings of an investigation published yesterday in News 12 by journalist Omri Maniv, according to which Deputy Superintendent Gil Hocherman, head of the police weapons laboratory, refused to advance the investigation into the circumstances of the death of Musa Hasson, who was killed by gunfire during Operation Wall Guard.
Among other things, it was alleged that Hocherman justified his refusal by saying that as a resident of Lod he was not interested in clearly assisting the circumstances of the incident.

During the meeting, Fridge raised the issue with Bennett and demanded that the police officer be suspended and that a DIP investigation be opened. The prime minister did not like the demand, and replied:
It should be remembered that there were riots of Lod Arabs against Jews.
If we need to check, we will check - but not like that. "
In a letter that Farage sent even before the meeting to the Minister of Internal Security, Amar Bar-Lev, he claimed that Hasson was "murdered in Lod" and that the investigation into his death was covered.
According to him, the findings of the investigation raise serious doubts regarding the closing of the case against the suspects in the act without an indictment being filed against them.
"Sen. Hocherman could not serve even one more day in office," Farage wrote.
