The cause of an accident with a hit-and-run in Zorneding could be determined.

He was drunk.

Now the police are looking for the driver of a damaged Mercedes.

Zorneding

- As reported by the Poing police, on Saturday evening between 7.30 p.m. and 7.50 p.m. in the REWE car park at Georg-Wimmer-Ring 6 in Zorneding, a silver Mercedes was hit by a gray Ford Connect on the rear bumper.

The Ford driver then fled the scene of the accident.

A witness told the police.

Alcohol test shows 2.8 per thousand

According to the police, the person who caused the accident could be found in a worker's accommodation thanks to information from another witness.

A breath alcohol test carried out on the driver of the Ford showed a value of more than 2.8 per thousand.

The car that was hit was no longer in the parking lot

The presumably damaged Mercedes could no longer be found in the parking lot.

The suspect was taken to the police station to have his blood drawn.

After all the necessary measures had been taken, the 43-year-old was released some time later.

His driver's license is secured.

He had to pay security because, as a foreign worker, he was only staying in Germany temporarily.
