Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said last night (Monday) in a particularly unusual statement that the fact that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky is a Jew does not negate the Nazi elements in Ukraine.
He added that Hitler also had Jewish blood and that he said, "So what if Zelsky is Jewish? Hitler also had Jewish blood."
Yad Vashem chairman Danny Dayan responded to Lavrov
's remarks and condemned them. "False, delusional and dangerous things that deserve all condemnation," he said.
"Russia has never cut short efforts to reach an agreement to prevent a nuclear war," he said.

Lavrov added that Russia's goal is to ensure the security of pro-Russian Ukrainians in the east.
