Schlehdorf forest kindergarten: Opening planned for September

The plans to establish a forest kindergarten in Schlehdorf are becoming more and more concrete.

Important points have now been set.

If everything goes as planned, the facility should open in September.

Schlehdorf – The Friends of the Schlehdorf monastery estate would like to set up a forest kindergarten in cooperation with committed parents in the village.

After the municipal council had already welcomed this project in principle in its February meeting, the councilors unanimously approved the building application for the erection of a construction trailer at their most recent meeting.

The committee also gave municipal approval to the construction of three parking spaces and a fence necessary for safety reasons.

The trailer is intended to offer shelter in bad weather

The construction trailer, which is intended to serve as a shelter for the children in bad weather, is to be set up on a community property near the Breitenlaichgraben, as Mayor Stefan Jocher explained at the meeting.

Because of the ditch, the construction of the fence was also necessary, according to Jocher.

As the mayor explained when asked, the lease agreement with the municipality had already been signed.

Originally, the initiators planned to set up the car on a plot of land belonging to the "Klostergut Schlehdorf" cooperative on the so-called young cattle hill on Reuterbühlerstrasse.

However, the municipal council had already found this to be less suitable during its discussion in February - partly because it is more difficult for the ambulance to reach it.

Biotoilet complements the trailer

As Jocher explained, the association is currently in the process of acquiring a kind of construction trailer.

It is a former shooting gallery, as used at folk festivals.

According to Jocher, this type of trailer offers more space than other trailers of this type.

During the meeting, Leonhard Helfert noted that some residents had approached him and expressed concerns about the sanitary facilities of the planned forest kindergarten.

"You're afraid that toilet paper is lying around in the meadow," said Helfert.

As Jocher explained, the initiators planned to set up a bio-toilet.

"It's a bio-based dixiklo," says the mayor.

However, he emphasized that the sanitary situation would be kept in mind and see how it would prove itself in everyday operation.

Some residents have concerns about the forest kindergarten

Michael Wolf also passed on the concerns of local residents: Some were "not at all enthusiastic" about the project, according to Wolf.

Property owners are concerned that children could run through the agricultural meadows.

Here, too, Mayor Jocher promised that the community would take these concerns seriously and monitor how the situation developed.

However, Jocher also emphasized that the founding of a forest kindergarten would be beneficial for the community.

"For us it is undoubtedly a support." Without this new facility, the municipality would have to expand the municipal kindergarten "sooner or later".

"And a five-digit amount would not do it."

Municipality wants to support kindergarten with a maximum of 20,000 euros

As Jocher said, the deficit agreement between the association as the legal sponsor and the community has now been signed.

The municipality wants to support the forest kindergarten with a maximum of 20,000 euros per year.

The district office still has to approve the planning application.

Jocher hopes that will happen by June.

The approval of the district youth welfare office has not yet been granted.

But he is confident that the forest kindergarten can open for the new kindergarten year in September.

According to Mark Rochlus from the “Klostergut” cooperative, the start is planned with twelve children and two teachers.

Over time, the facility could be expanded to around 20 children and three carers.
