The Tunisian presidency announced that a new constitution for the country will be prepared and a referendum on it will take place on July 25.
The Presidency of the Tunisian Republic said in a statement that "President Kais Saied discussed today with two constitutional law professors, Brigadier General Sadiq Belaid and Brigadier General Mohamed Saleh bin Issa, the legal situation and ways to achieve the popular will in order to establish a new republic in Tunisia."
The meeting dealt with a number of axes related to Tunisia's next constitution, which will be prepared and then approved by referendum on the set date on the 25th of next July.
Saeed said, "We will form a committee to establish a new republic that will finish its work in a short period of time," adding, "We renew the three no's: no peace, no negotiation, no recognition of those who destroyed the country and wreaked havoc in it, and no return to the past."
The Tunisian president had announced a few days ago that he would not negotiate with anyone who wanted to strike the state and would not recognize those who sold the country or tried to do so.
