On day 67 of Russia's illegal war of aggression against Ukraine, the Kremlin has reported a rocket attack on a warehouse full of weapons supplied by the US and Europe.

Denmark called the Russian ambassador for a meeting next Monday after a Russian military plane entered Danish airspace.

And there is a glimmer of hope for the around 100,000 people still trapped in the embattled Mariupol: Dozens of civilians were brought out of the embattled city under the Russian-Ukrainian ceasefire - however, their exact numbers, their whereabouts and the further course of the evacuations are currently still unclear.

The developments at a glance.

military situation

Russia reported early Sunday morning that Russian attacks had hit 17 military facilities in Ukraine on Saturday and killed at least 200 Ukrainian soldiers.

In western Russia, not far from the border with Ukraine, a military facility caught fire, damaging seven buildings and injuring a resident.

The exact cause of the fire initially remained unclear.

Russia's Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that it had used Onyx missiles to attack a military airfield near Odessa, destroying a hangar full of weapons supplied by the United States and Europe.

Only last week did Western countries agree to also supply heavy weapons to Ukraine.

On Saturday, Odessa airport was hit by a Russian missile fired from Crimea, destroying the runway.

President Zelenskyi announced that it would be rebuilt.

Ukrainian troops said they shot down two Russian Sukhoi Su-25 fighter jets and seven Russian military drones on Saturday.

Furthermore, three anti-aircraft tanks, the Strela-10 anti-aircraft system and a radio vehicle were destroyed on the Russian-controlled Snake Island in the Black Sea.

humanitarian situation

According to the United Nations, an evacuation operation to rescue Ukrainian civilians trapped in inhumane conditions at the Azov Steelworks in Mariupol is underway, in coordination with Russia, Ukraine and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Dozens of civilians are said to have already been taken out of the embattled city by bus convoys, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the operation to rescue more people from Mariupol would be continued.

At the moment there are probably still hundreds of people in the Azov steelworks alone.

An evacuation campaign for residents of Mariupol staying outside the Azov steelworks has been announced for Monday.

Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are currently unable to heat their houses and apartments due to bombing raids on the country's infrastructure, and around 213,000 households are said to be without gas at the moment.

The war in Ukraine is also having an impact on the humanitarian situation in other countries: according to the director of the World Food Program of the United Nations (WFP), Martin Frick, "almost 4.5 million tons of grain are currently stuck in Ukrainian ports and on ships".

Many countries, for example in North Africa, are dependent on cheap wheat from Ukraine.

Frick spoke of a double challenge: »Food has to get to the trapped (...) people in Ukraine, but also out of the region into the world in order to defuse a global food crisis«

That says Kyiv

The Ukrainian prosecutor's office opened 9,158 cases on Russian war crimes, including torture, rape and looting.

Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova told CNN that the first perpetrators had already been identified.

In the investigations, Ukraine will also be supported by experts from France, Slovakia and Lithuania.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the gathering of Russian forces in the east of the country in his late-night video address on Saturday.

Russia is trying to increase the pressure in the Donbass.

Ukrainian authorities reported further Russian rocket attacks in southern and eastern Ukraine.

Moscow says so

Russia's parliamentary speaker, Vyacheslav Volodin, announced that he intends to freeze foreign assets in Russia - as "mirrored measures against companies (...) from unfriendly countries".

This is how the international community is reacting

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi met with President Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Sunday morning.

In a video shared on Twitter, Pelosi said, "Your fight is our fight." Pelosi reiterated "more US aid is on the way": Washington is working on $33 billion in aid to Ukraine implement.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking to his Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba, reaffirmed Washington's continued "robust support" for Ukraine.

He announced the return of US diplomats to Lviv and Kyiv soon.

Britain's Foreign Office has reported that Russia's social media disinformation company is using a troll factory of coordinated employees to spread "lies about Putin's illegal war."

Denmark summoned the Russian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry for next Monday after a Russian military plane entered Danish airspace east of the Baltic Sea island of Bornholm.

The spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ibrahim Kalın, and Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal met the Ukrainian head of state Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Saturday. The content of the conversation was initially unknown.

In view of the war in Ukraine, Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser advised German citizens to stock up on emergency supplies, for example in the event of a power failure due to cyber attacks on critical infrastructure.

At the same time, she campaigned for the partial reactivation of shelters in Germany that are currently being used for other purposes.

Faeser accused the Russian embassy of deliberately spreading false news about the Ukraine war.

She did not rule out the consequences of the German state in view of the "disinformation campaigns and war propaganda".
