"Shown at all folk festivals": Söder celebrates Wiesn decision - rider is outraged

CSU boss Söder was happy to say yes to the Oktoberfest 2022.
The reaction of his fans on social media was rather mixed.
Mayor Reiter also teased.
Munich - "Oans, zwoa, drei, G'suffa" will ring out across the Theresienwiese in Munich again this year.
The Oktoberfest will take place without restrictions.
The Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter (SPD), informed the public about this on Friday, April 29.
It was a tough decision for him.
Apparently less for the Bavarian Prime Minister and Söder was also allowed to listen to Reiter.

Oktoberfest 2022: Söder celebrates the decision of Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter
Markus Söder (CSU) was already campaigning for the Oktoberfest to take place in Munich before the decision was made.
In an interview with the
Munich newspaper
, he said that he felt it was "right and important" to hold the Oktoberfest.
The final decision would have to be made by the city of Munich itself.
And OB Reiter did just that.
Although the situation in Ukraine and the corona pandemic gave him stomach ache when making the decision.
Bavaria's head of state, on the other hand, posted a photo of him and the head of town hall at the opening of the Oktoberfest 2019 shortly after Reiter's press conference on Instagram. He wrote: "The Wiesn 2022 is taking place!
A good signal, especially in difficult times.
The Munich Oktoberfest stands for joie de vivre and cosmopolitanism like no other festival.
It is Bavaria's international flagship.
I will be happy to go and look forward to the first mass.”
Oktoberfest 2022: Reiter with clear words to Söder
This euphoria for a mega event, which a year ago would have been demonized as a superspreader event, did not go unnoticed by OB Reiter.
In his statement, he also insisted on giving Söder a hearty dig.
"I note that the Bavarian Minister of Health, Mr. Holetschek, warns of the dangers of autumn every day, while the Bavarian Prime Minister is showing up at all the folk festivals that are currently taking place - without a mask, with a beer mug in his hand and without distance." And in fact, in the past few weeks, Söder seemed to be touring from one folk festival to the other.
And that shortly after his corona disease.
But Reiter didn't just let it be good.
His attack on Söder and his Corona policy continued without explicitly mentioning the name of the CSU boss.
At first, the head of the town hall was visibly annoyed that “some others” had been expressing their opinions about the Oktoberfest in the media for days and weeks without being asked.
"Of course, you can change the team you play [...] on a daily basis or change regularly.
As happened in Bavaria, you can also dissolve the 'Team Caution' and turn it into a 'Team Volksfesthopping',” continued Reiter.
There would be applause for that in the beer tents.
But it's also easy to say something like that when you're "making promises you're not responsible for".
While Söder visits one folk festival (here the Munich Spring Festival) after the other, Mayor Dieter Reiter had a hard time giving his OK for the Oktoberfest 2022.

Oktoberfest 2022: Söder's followers have different opinions on the Wiesn decision
A Söder follower shared the mayor's concerns.
"Lauterbach speaks of a killer variant in autumn and in Muc the largest folk festival is celebrated in autumn where the whole world comes together.
Please excuse me if you feel a bit fooled!” Another commentator accuses Söder of hypocrisy.
In his government statement from mid-March, Söder spoke of “Team Blindflug” in connection with the traffic light government’s corona policy.
In addition, he and his Health Minister Holetschek never tired of criticizing the expiration of the Corona rules and the federal hotspot regulation.
But it wasn't just criticism in the comments.
Like Söder, many were looking forward to the Wiesn 2022. “Very nice!
That's the right decision.
The Oktoberfest has to take place.
The biggest folk festival in the world is finally making a comeback.
We have to trust normality again,” writes one user.
