A sandstorm that engulfed Iraq turned the sky orange.

Dozens of people were hospitalized suffering from breathing difficulties and grounded flights due to poor eyesight in Baghdad, Najaf and Irbil.

According to experts, sandstorms are becoming more common in the area due to droughts and declining annual precipitation.
