C5 X, the unclassifiable sedan

Desperate bet or one step ahead?

Once again, Citroën moves the lines, daring a new approach to the statutory sedan.

The chevron firm started from the premise that automobile travel could be written differently than on board an SUV whose days would be numbered because of a tall silhouette that does not plead in favor, nor the reduction of the carbon footprint, or the quality of behavior.

The answer from the French brand, which was long overdue - the C5 sedan disappeared from the catalog in mid-2017 - can be found in this C5 X, a model that crosses influences from the station wagon and the sedan.

It will probably take some time to get used to this new design with a slightly starched stern.

This unclassifiable vehicle would succeed in reconciling almost contradictory aspirations: reducing aerodynamic drag for the benefit of consumption, lowering the center of gravity to ensure sedan dynamism and preserving a slightly raised seat to retain the SUV faithful…
