President Yitzhak Herzog spoke today (Monday) with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the conversation, Herzog congratulated Erdogan on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and Erdogan sent a greeting card on the occasion of Israel's 74th Independence Day.
"I wish prosperity to the people of Israel," Erdogan said.
At the beginning of the conversation between the leaders, President Herzog asked to congratulate Erdogan and the citizens of Turkey on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
In response, the President of Turkey expressed hope that the holiday will bring with it regional joy, peace and closeness of hearts.
The two also discussed the importance of open and ongoing dialogue between the countries in order to maintain peace and stability throughout the region, especially these days.

In addition, Herzog thanked Erdogan for the congratulatory letter he sent on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of the State of Israel.
In the letter, the Turkish president wrote that "in the new period of relations between us, which began with the President's visit to our country last March, I sincerely believe that cooperation between the countries will develop in a way that serves our mutual national interests as well as regional peace and stability."
