France has culled millions of poultry after the outbreak of bird flu in the country since last November.
AFP quoted the French Ministry of Agriculture as saying today: Since the outbreak of the bird flu epidemic last November, 16 million domestic birds have been slaughtered in France, which is a record number, considering at the same time that the peak of the epidemic was exceeded at the end of last March and the speed of its spread has slowed.
It is reported that since the first case of the epidemic was recorded in northern France, more than 1,300 farms have been infected with the virus, especially in Vendé and neighboring provinces.
It should be noted that bird flu is a seasonal disease transmitted by migratory birds and usually appears in October in Europe and continues until April, but for the first time wild birds transmitted the disease to French farms during their migration from southern countries, which led to a second wave of the epidemic.
