The multiple maintenance projects on metro infrastructure, mostly carried out at night, are for the most part "painless" for users.
This is far from the case of the one that has been taking place since Saturday, under the Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile station in Paris, on the rails of line 1 (Château-de-Vincennes / La Défense).
To allow the replacement of a "point device" (the technical term for a switch), the oldest and most touristic of the lines of the network is closed to users, from Concorde to Porte-Maillot, until Thursday morning .
