Iranian police seized more than three tons of drugs in the city of Iranshahr in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
"The anti-drug police forces in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan seized 3 tons and 500 kilograms of drugs on the southeastern border of the country during the past 24 hours, and arrested a number of smugglers," IRNA news agency quoted Police Border Guard Commander Brigadier General Ahmed Ali Kudarzi as saying today.
"During the operation, the security forces were able to seize quantities of weapons that were in the possession of smugglers," Kudarzi added.
The Iranian security forces continue to combat drug smuggling operations, as they continuously announce successful operations and seize large quantities of them.
